Shape and size of bed bug: Bed Bugs are Oval or elliptical shaped and brownish in color. It’s very small as an apple seed in size. They are living on the blood of Humans and Animals. After feed they looks reddish. Adult bed bugs have plane bodies, but enlarge after feeding.  Their life cycle is different than other insects. After egg they have 5 stages before reach in maturity. What is the shape and size of bed bug?

Unlike other insects they have 7 stages in their life cycle. In each stage their sizes are different. Here is a chart of sizes below:

There are five stages of Nymph are given below:

2. Nymph: First stage – takes in blood meal, then molts.

3. Nymph: Second stage – 2.0 mm long, takes in blood meal, then molts.

4. Nymph: Third stage – 2.5 mm long, takes in blood meal, then molts.

5. Nymph: Fourth stage – 3.0 mm long, takes in blood meal, then molts.

6. Nymph: Fifth stage – 4.5 mm long, takes in blood meal, then molts.

The last and final stage is adult.

7. Adult:  5.5 mm long, takes repeated blood meals over several weeks. Female can lay from 1 to 5 eggs a day up to 500 eggs in life time. They lay eggs singly or in clusters and placed in tight cracks and crevices.
