01. Clean all upholstered items
Clean all upholstered items with Vacuum cleaner. Check all the attachments & crevices if there’s any Bed Bugs. Pay special concern to fabric folding and areas behind buttons. If the wood on your furniture has any crack or crevice areas, vacuum it well.
02. Clear the vacuum cleaner immediately
Clear the vacuum cleaner immediately after use. Do this task outside, and remove vacuum bag, seal the bag and throw it in your outside trash.
03. Use Dry Cleaner
Place all small pillows & their covers of your upholstered furniture in the dryer to heat for 20 to 30 minutes. If any larger pillows not fit in your dryer, take them to a dry-cleaner.
Keep the pillows in plastic bag and tell them that these are infested with bed bugs. Some dry-cleaners may refuse to clean these items. So, ask them before taking these items to clean. If they agree you give your pillows to them.
04. Apply hot steam machine
Apply a hot steam machine on your furniture at an effective temperature of 125 degrees. Replicate this process in another week to ensure you have removed all the Bed Bugs and their eggs. Steam all areas of furniture including wood if any, but test in an obvious area to make sure the wood will not get damage by the steam.
